31. Sigur Ros "Gobbledigook"

"Gobbledigook" marks a departure for our favorite Hopelandic-speaking band, Sigur Ros. Tribal-sounding percussions, shifting acoustic guitars, hand claps - have they been listening to some Animal Collective lately? Leaving behind the gorgeous yet sonically spare landscapes of ( ) and the epic sounds of Takk, "Gobbledigook" is frolicsome and playful even [check out the la's of the 2:23 mark]. As if taking a cue from the joyful album cover of Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, the song light and airy; perfectly complimented by a video made in collaboration with every body's favorite photographer fond of taking pictures of naked young people in nature, Ryan McGinley.
